Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

#instacamp Week 4 -- Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

These are the pictures I took throughout the week for #instacamp's final prompt: Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer.  #Instacamp is a photo prompt from Chookooloonks featuring photos captured on cameraphones.  This is the fourth and final prompt.

Amusement parkin' on a hot, summer day.

Ahhh!  The kiddos are finally asleep...  Time to unwind.

It's not Friday night, but it IS summertime!

Seeking shade on a triple-digit summer day.

Summer stormy skies from a car window.

There you have it.  Week 4 of #instacamp on #lazyhazydaysofsummer!.  Sadly, #instacamp has come to an end.  I have much enjoyed participating in this photo prompt.  Maybe I'll have to come up with my own weekly topics?  (I'm still participating in #photoaday with #fatmumslim, so onward to #photoadayJuly!)

#instacamp Week 3 -- Water!

These are the pictures I took throughout the week for #instacamp's prompt: Sunshine.  #Instacamp is a photo prompt from Chookooloonks featuring photos captured on cameraphones, running all summer long!

Water quenching my thirsty Swiss chard on a hot, hot day.

Ripples: water trickling down the driveway during a car wash.

Car wash!  Wherein the kiddos still think this is FUN STUFF.

Cascade at the pool: water frozen in time.

Splash: diamonds falling down the drop slides.

Blue, azure, turquoise, or aqua? Or, simply, serenity.

Wherein my grass thanks me at the expense of my water bill.

There you have it.  Week 3 of #instacamp on #water!.  Stay tuned for week 4's prompt out on Monday.  Check here!  Happy Snapping!

Silly Turkey

Weekend Trifextra:

This weekend we're revisiting an early Trifextra prompt: retelling.  This time, we're asking you to retell your favorite book.  In 33 words.  Nothing like a challenge.  We are sure you're up to it.

The rules of the challenge did not exclude any genre of books, so here is my entry:

Unlike his friends, Turkey puts hat under feet, shirt on hips, pants on head, coat on backwards, socks on hands, shoe on head, and dives into pool fully-dressed.  He is One-of-a-Kind and Colorfully-Celebrated.

(Note: I've read aloud this book repeatedly for almost a decade.  Each reading renders belly laughs and silly 'oops'.  It's not a wonder why it's one of my favorite books -- in the children's book genre.  My copy is worn, taped, and well-loved.)
